For obtaining divorce certificate, various steps are required, including the verification of the divorce, the recording of the divorce in the union council’s official record, and the issuance of the divorce certificate by NADRA.

To initiate the process for obtaining Divorce Certificate, you need to gather the required documents, such as your marriage certificate, national identity cards of both spouses, and any other relevant documents. Next, an application for divorce will be submitted to the concerned union council in Pakistan. The union council will proceed with the verification process, which usually involves interviewing both spouses separately to ascertain their consent for divorce.

Once the verification is complete, the divorce will be officially recorded in the union council’s record. After the completion of the Iddat period, which is 90 days, the divorce certificate will be issued by NADRA.

It is important to note that the 90-day period starts from the date of the application for divorce. Therefore, it is advisable to begin the process as soon as possible to avoid any delays.
