Online marriage in Pakistan is a formal union of a man and a woman. Typically solemnized under Muslim family laws ordinance. In other words, a legal procedure by which they become husband and wife. The trend of online marriage in Pakistan is very common. The process is very easy like court marriage. A special attorney through the written document, giving permission to sign the Nikah Nama. Documents required for online marriage in Pakistan?

• Copies of CNIC of Bride and Groom (or Passport copy if CNIC not available or any other proof of identity.)
• Copy of Passport with valid visa and a proof of valid stay in abroad at the time of Nikah.
• Letter of Wakeel Appointment/ permission letter.
• Two witnesses with their copy of CNIC.
• If the groom is performing a second marriage. Then permission for second marriage is required.
• In the case of the bride’s second marriage. A valid Divorce Certificate or Death Certificate of a deceased partner is needed.

How to start online marriage process?

Make an appointment with expert online marriage lawyer and provide the required copies of the documents.  After receiving the documents, date and time of Nikah is settled. The absent party will appear online on a conference call on the settled date and time. The registrar performs online marriage in the presence of witnesses. The bride, groom, or their Online lawyer, witnesses, will Sign the Nikah Nama, the nikkah registrar put his seal on the Nikah nama. If both parties are not present at the time of Nikah, they do want to appoint a special attorney. Then we send  Nikah Nama for their Signatures through registered mail.

How to get Marriage Certificate and  Nikah Nama?

Practically, in Pakistan marriage certificates and Nikah Nama are two different document. We have to understand the difference between a marriage certificate and a Nikah Nama. There are two kinds of marriage papers or marriage certificates. The first one in Urdu is called Nikkah Nama it consists of 4 pages/four copies, one copy for the groom, the second copy for the bride, the third copy remains with the Nikah registrar and the last one is submitted to the local union council office for record. In Pakistan, nikah nama is a legal document and it is a manual document. A document signed by bride and groom in presence of witnesses. After the completion of formalities, the Nikah registrar provides two copies of Nikah Nama, one for the bride and the other for the groom.

A marriage certificate is a legal document. which is mostly called NADRA (National Database & Registration Authority) computerized marriage certificate, issued by the concerned official authorities like the union council or cantonment board office. You have to keep in mind that NADRA does not issue a marriage certificate directly.
